Iran Halts Indirect Talks with US Over Israeli Strikes in Lebanon

(MENAFN) Iran has suspended indirect communications and the exchange of messages with the United States through mediators in response to ongoing Israeli military actions in Lebanon, according to reports released Monday.

According to reports, Iranian authorities made the decision after concluding that continued Israeli operations in Lebanon constitute a violation of ceasefire arrangements that Tehran considers essential to maintaining broader regional stability.

Reports indicated that Iran’s negotiating team will pause all “talks and exchanges of texts through mediators” until specific demands related to developments in Gaza and Lebanon are addressed.

According to reports, Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that any diplomatic progress depends on an immediate end to Israeli military operations in both Gaza and Lebanon, along with a complete Israeli withdrawal from territories occupied in Lebanon.

“As long as Iran’s and the resistance front’s position on these issues is not addressed, there will be no talks,” Tasnim said.

Reports also stated that Iran and groups aligned with what is referred to as the resistance axis have agreed to prepare responses to Israeli military actions and are evaluating the possibility of expanding the scope of confrontation through additional fronts.

According to reports, Tehran views developments in Gaza and Lebanon as closely connected to wider regional negotiations and has signaled that future diplomatic engagement will remain on hold unless its stated conditions are met.
