Strike Targets Methanol Facility Infrastructure in Iran’s Bushehr Region

(MENAFN) A joint US-Israeli strike hit an industrial site linked to methanol production in Iran’s Bushehr province on Friday evening, according to reports.

The incident reportedly occurred at the Dayyer port area, where two projectiles struck part of the Kaveh Petrochemical complex, specifically damaging the control room located on the facility’s pier.

Preliminary information suggested that the core methanol production units were not affected, with operations at the main sections of the plant continuing without interruption despite the impact.

No casualties were recorded as a result of the attack, according to.

The development comes amid an ongoing campaign of US and Israeli airstrikes against Iran that began on Feb. 28, with reported fatalities surpassing 1,340, including senior figures such as Ali Khamenei, as stated by reports.

In response, Iran has carried out retaliatory missile and drone attacks targeting Israel as well as neighboring countries including Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf states hosting US military installations. These exchanges have led to casualties, infrastructure damage, and broader disruptions affecting global markets and air travel.
